Our client was fascinated with natural & exotic stones of various colours and textures. He wanted us to use the exotics in the important areas of the house in a more statement – ish and creative form.
Hence, that became the most important inspiration for the theme of the space. And went on to name the project – The Marble Marvel.
Our client – Mr. Rickin Shah is Diamantaire and since Diamonds are highly sought-after luxury commodity that signify wealth and glamor, we felt same should translate into his abode.
The exotic stones form the most important and core part of the décor and we wanted the colours to come through them. Most important walls like living room – seating area, dining area, TV wall & entrance wall are cladded with marble. Major part of the house has a neutral grey marble floor but we tried breaking the monotony in areas like the Vestibule, Bedrooms lobby & the kids’ room with various patterns. To compliment the Brazilian exotics and other marbles used, we felt that, Gold (PVD coated SS sheets) would be an ideal material to team with. A lot of the important areas have gold finish on it – Kitchen cabinets, Dining table legs, chairs, side tables, Master bedroom dresser etc and they all blended well with the stones like a Bride’s gold jewellery with gem stones embedded in them.
